On 8 June 2016 the Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy adopted a Joint Communication identifying the principles that should guide EU action in the field of international cultural relations and proposing a strategy across three work streams focused on advancing cultural cooperation with partner countries.
