The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union designed the year 2018 as the ‘European Year of Cultural Heritage’ (‘European Year’), a year of events, activities and celebrations all around Europe.The purpose shall be to get people interested and involved in cultural heritage, to promote innovative models of participatory governance and management of cultural heritage, promote the debate, the research and the exchange of good practices. The aim of the EYCH shall be to encourage the appreciation of Europe’s cultural heritage as a shared resource, recognizing its great value to European society ,and to reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space through the awareness of common values and history. |
